Hartmanns Books is a family-owned independent bookshop on Portishead High Street. We opened in 2024 and have loved getting to know the readers, families, schools and community groups around us ever since.

We stock an exciting range of fiction and non-fiction for children, teenagers, young adults and grown-ups. What matters most to us is helping the right reader find the right book, whether that’s a much-anticipated new release or something unexpected.

The shop is also a place for people to come together. Our book club is thriving, and we host author events throughout the year for readers of all ages, covering both fiction and non-fiction. Keep an eye on what’s coming up. We’re also continuing to build strong relationships with local schools and the wider community.
